Melanie Birt
Melanie is a Cairns local who joined Mansia Bovey and Company Lawyers in April 2018. Prior to joining Mansia Bovey and Company Lawyers, Melanie worked in Townsville for a number of years. First as a law clerk while completing her degree then as a solicitor in the areas of property and family law.
While studying her bachelors degree Melanie undertook electives targeted at improving her knowledge and skills in the area of criminal law. In particular, Melanie completed the subjects of advanced criminal law, advocacy and criminal sentencing and her honours thesis was in relation to the application of criminal laws in Queensland. This combined theoretical and practical court experience, and intricate knowledge of the law and court processes, has proved invaluable.
A compassionate, dedicated and resourceful advocate, Melanie understands that the legal process can be overwhelming for many clients. She considers it a privilege to support clients through this time, and to help them obtain the best outcome in all of the circumstances.
